We set off from Florence to visit a vineyard in the village of Greve in Chianti. But we’ll be taking a detour to the thousand-year-old village of Volterra.
Nestled in the heart of Tuscany, the dazzling village of Volterra fascinates with its Etruscan remains and timeless medieval charm.
Stroll through its cobbled streets and soak up the history of its unique museums, including the Etruscan Museum and the Medicea Fortress.
For dinner, we found La Sosta Del Priore, a sandwich bar in a small alley. Two friendly ladies prepare our meals on request. Another wow, very tasty and affordable. A mixture of prosciutto, cheese and sautéed mushrooms.
Admire panoramic views of the Tuscan hills and feast on local cuisine in quaint trattorias.
Volterra, an authentic treasure to discover.
After visiting the village of Volterra, we head for the Terre di Melazzano vineyards in the village of Greve in Chianti.
Next stop: the Chianti region of Tuscany.
