The morning of May 12 marks our departure from Tuscany for southern Italy, Puglia. 450 km and 5 hours’ drive to Peschici.

Nestled on a rocky promontory in the Gargano National Park, Peschici reveals an almost unreal setting, where whitewashed houses seem suspended between sky and sea. Here, the light of the Adriatic is reflected on every wall, accentuating the contrast with the deep blue of the water. Our room is located at the top of the village.

The heart of the village is a labyrinth of narrow streets, punctuated by staircases and lively squares. You’ll come across colorful doors, flowering balconies and a handful of craftsmen perpetuating their discreet know-how. The atmosphere is peaceful, almost timeless.

Further down the coast, fishermen continue an ancestral tradition. The famous trabucchi, wooden structures protruding into the sea, bear witness to a way of life intimately linked to the water. At dawn or dusk, they offer a silent, authentic spectacle.

In Peschici, everything seems to slow down: the wind, our footsteps, our gaze. It’s a village to behold, where every vantage point becomes a living postcard.
Evening restaurant : La Taverna di Peschici. For our room at Appartamenti Castello.
