We spent two days in the village of Greve in Chianti. Charming village in the heart of Tuscany.
Several stores in the central square offer typical local products.
The Black Rooster, the village emblem, sits enthroned on one of the buildings. The Black Rooster can be found on many local products, including wine bottles.
We stayed at the Terre di Melazzano winery, which is about 15 minutes’ walk from the center of the village of Greve-in-Chianti.
For our first dinner we chose the Restaurant Enoteca Ristorante il Gallo Nero. A lovely, warm, calm atmosphere. Without asking, our waitress explains the history of the Gallo Nero, the black rooster.
The next morning, we wake up very early to take photos of the sunrise over the vineyards. We then returned to the village center for lunch. We chose Caffè Le Logge Ristorante Pizzeria for our morning croissant. We then wandered around the main square to discover the various stores.
