Florence, jewel of the Renaissance, enchants with its timeless beauty. Its medieval streets evoke history at every turn, leading to the majestic Santa Maria del Fiore cathedral and its famous Brunelleschi dome. The Galleria degli Uffizi’s galleries house art treasures from Botticelli to Michelangelo. The Ponte Vecchio, with its boutiques overlooking the Arno, captivates romantic souls, while Tuscan flavors delight the taste buds in the trattorias.
We parked near our room, Plus Florence Hostel. Very clean establishment, roof terrace with a direct view of the Domo.
Florence, cradle of culture and art, seduces at every turn. Historic buildings, sculptures, works of art, Florence is an open-air museum.
The magnificent Ponte Vecchio (Old Bridge), the only bridge over the River Arno to survive WWII.
We ended the day at a restaurant next to the Grand Marché Central, L’antica pizzeria da Michele Firenze.
Neapolitan Pizza and Calzone. A delight, every bite is tasty and overflowing with pleasure.
Next stop: the village of Volterra.
